Ullswater
AUTHOR: Ryan Blackburn
This project was carried out on the shores of Lake Ullswater, at a very high end, new build renovation. A variety of bespoke items tailor-made to the customers exact specifications were produced and installed around the property .
The main project photograph was carried out in the entrance hall and designed to give an impact by a local interior design company. All components were produced in the workshop, backing boards grooved to give a boarded effect and form shadows which were then surrounded with a grooved oak border to frame it. Slightly set in away from the green oak structured beams to allow it to move. A factory applied spray finish to the customers requirements with Selected Little Greene Paint, and hand made copper hooks were sourced from hanging garments and hats.
A huge piece of European oak was selected for the seating area for footwear removal, a living edge was left on the timber giving it natural look. The large kiln dried plank was taken to site, which allowed the customer to select exactly which features they liked, making it totally personal. The oak was planed but not totally flat as a natural uneven surface was chosen, all sealed with a matt Osmo oil. This was sat on a slate floor.
